Community Connections

The Community Connection Program has been developed to promote community among our families and staff by providing educationally focused events, field trips, virtual sessions and unique academic experiences. Due to being unable to meet in person, we have a fantastic series of virtual sessions to offer students at all grade levels! We are also excited to now offer virtual sessions exclusively for our High School students.

Our Community Connections program offers monthly events including:

  • Connections Days: These are focused on specific grade levels and will incorporate learning opportunities and our theme for the month!
  • Special Events/Virtual Field Trips: These events are created based on local events and vendor offerings in each region.
  • Virtual Sessions: Each CC Specialist will offer a focused virtual session.

Monthly Character Education:

Blue Ridge Academy is proud to partner with Harper for Kids to teach our students important character traits from legendary UCLA Coach John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success and his definition of success: “Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to become the best you are capable of becoming.”

Coach Wooden believed and taught that the most important responsibility each of us had to ourselves was to do everything we could to achieve our own potential. He offered his Pyramid of Success and his definition of Success as a guide, stepping stones to help young people understand what it really takes to make the effort – 100% – to fulfill their potential and do their best.

Harper for Kids is a children’s nonprofit organization founded by Tim & Peanut Louie Harper. Harper for Kids mission is to teach children important life skills that will empower them to achieve their personal best in life and to help schools incorporate Coach Wooden's Pyramid of Success into their character education.

We are excited about working with Harper for Kids to bring focused character education to our students. For more information about Harper for Kids and Coach Wooden’s Pyramid of Success, please visit their website.
